More Meaty Middle
September 7th, 2006
I see that I’m not alone in classifying a middle section of the “long tail” that’s important for many businesses to keep an eye on or target as a market.
The Kelsey Group blog talks about Dovetail.tv and how they are aiming for the “Middle Tail” of the video curve while the premium publishers are the head, and YouTube and it’s breathren take up the long tail. It seems like an interesting play to me, there could be a surprising amount of ad revenue for them in the meaty middle type of content, whereas advertisers may be a bit nervous about what they’re advertising on with YouTube.
