Open vs. Closed Advertising
May 31st, 2006
The 360TechBlog has a piece up today about the Right Media Exchange, what it is, and how it relates to the online advertising industry as a whole. Included is a comparison with AdECN, an exchange being created by the folks at Experclick.
It’s a good read though to get a sense of what makes Right Media and our thinking different from the rest of the industry. While everyone is trying to create their own walled gardens with their advertisers and publishers, we’re promoting open relationships, APIs, and putting as many parties together on an open platform to help make the industry more efficient and accountable. It’s exciting to watch things come together and it will be fun to watch what changes in the online ad industry over the next few years.
