MSNBC just placed the largest BlogAds buy yet. They’ve purchased ads on over 800 blogs. Pretty impressive stuff. While blogging and the whole genre has been hyped for so long, I think slowly but surely more and more advertising will trickle it’s way as the whole business of blogging gets more sophisticated.
This is just another sign the market is getting more mature.
I don’t think advertising should be the do all and end all of a blog. Luckily I think a lot of quality blogs out there aren’t focused on it as their lone revenue source, which is a sign for better long term stability for the individual blogs and the “blogging” industry as a whole, if such a thing really exists.
